I like to experiment with fabric, specifically patchwork. Function takes quite a big role in my work. I love the homeliness that is connected to a blanket. There’s something very tender about making something that will keep someone you love warm. Warmth is everything, whether it’s coming from within or from the outside. We find it in food, warm clothes, fire, blankets, touch, love, … It’s all everyone seems to be looking for. So what greater gift than a transfer of external warmth representing what is already felt within? For To Be Antwerp I will be showing a patchwork quilt I made for my mother.
