Presenting Noor Nova von Winckelmann

I tell the story of my family history by bringing together the 2 cultures of colonial Indonesia and noble Germany in an artistic way,  that forms a harmony where there was none before. In a series of flags inspired by medieval flags with coats of arms, I present the Indonesian batik process with silkscreen and wax. The pattern is a combination of a historical, cultural meaning with my own design. It symbolizes the diversity in Indonesia, together with elements taken from the German coat of arms from my family.
